The Museu de la Moto de Barcelona, a different experience in the heart of the Gothic Quarter
More than 200 iconic motorbikes, including the first one built in Spain in 1904
04.06.2013
The Museu de la Moto de Barcelona, opened in 2011 with a selection of motorbikes of all styles and from all eras, and featuring some of the leading brands (including Bultaco and Montesa) and a section devoted to the world of motorbike racing. The aim is to become one of the foremost museums, not just for motorbike fans, but for the public at large.

The permanent exhibition, “Catalan Motorbikes (1905-2010): the History of a Pioneering Industry”, pays tribute to the pioneers who laid the foundations of the Spanish motorbike industry and established a fan base for motorbikes that is still very much in evidence in Catalonia today.

The museum also holds temporary thematic exhibitions and stages activities such as round-table debates, lectures and creative workshops, with the aim of promoting the history and culture of the biking world.

The museum is housed in an attractive architectural setting, the ground floor of the convent of Sant Felip Neri, in one of the old town’s iconic squares, which lends added value to the experience.
